Blue sodalite uses in ancient China

The Chinese name for sodalite is qing ling shi “clear soul stone.” Ling refers to the soul. Sodalite helps clear the soul of guilt and remorse. This cleansing makes room for renewal and new beginnings. It also increases clarity about your purpose and path in life.

Furthermore, a famous Chinese medicine doctor, Li Shizhen, wrote that sodalite was helpful to get rid of stuck spirits (gui or ghosts). It was also used to remove parasites, both physical and emotional. The emotional parasites are things you cannot let go of. It also treats conditions that make you susceptible to being controlled by others.

Finally, sodalite was often carved into a sculpture of a calm woman. The purpose of the sculpture was to ease extreme anger and resentment.

Sodalite background

Sodalite comes in royal blue, denim. blue, white, light yellow, green, gray, pink violet, and colorless. White veining is common. A molecular relationship exists between aluminum and oxygen or silica, which contributes to the color.

It is a rock-forming mineral, usually in a large form, ranging from opaque to translucent with vitreous, greasy luster. Crystals are rare.

Blue sodalite specifically

Blue sodalite is sometimes confused with lapis lazuli, which is heavier and is usually a more vibrant blue with flecks of gold in the stone.

The deep blue color represents a reflection from your past, something or someone you need to let go of in order to move on.

Blue sodalite healing properties

Blue sodalite’s main healing properties come from its affinity for the lung and liver connection to wei qi (defensive qi). It also nourishes stomach fluids and regulates other body fluids.

Finally, sodalite interacts with the liver energy to remove toxins held in the body, such as from vaccinations.
