Dr. Hou's Chinese Medicine Journey

Dr. Dayong Hou
I remember my father and mother treating patients when I was growing up. My father would come home from the clinic where he was a Chinese medicine doctor, and people from the village would be waiting to see him.

We lived in a poor village and people did not have a lot of money to pay. Every holiday we would receive chickens, cakes, and anything people could bring us. My mother was also a doctor, a gynecologist. Most of her work was at the hospital.

They were both so well respected. I just remember that the people from the village would arrive stressed, worried, fearful. Once my father treated them, they would leave calm and happy. I wanted to follow in my parents' path of teaching about and using Chinese medicine to help people. It was a path that was full of so much healing and goodness.
